Help! I can't log into the library databases

I receive an error message when I try logging into the library databases. 


Answer

The course of action depends on the error message received.

Only students currently enrolled in the college and within the boundaries of the USA can access the databases.

Please ensure you use your official Galen email address and password when logging into the library databases—the email domain for students is @nursing.galencollege.edu. You will not be granted access if you have a typo or rearrange the format of your school email address.

Example problem #1

If you've successfully entered your email address and password and received the message below, please create a student IT Department support ticket at https://hcaservicecentral.service-now.com/galen and include a copy or screenshot of the error message.

Example problem #2

If you've entered your email address and password successfully and you receive this message:

"Your sign-in was successful but does not meet the criteria to access this resource. For example, you might be signing in from a browser, app, or location that is restricted by your admin." 

Possible solutions:

1) If you are using a VPN- log out. Clear your browser settings. Restart the browser and try logging into the databases again.

2) Try another browser/computer (EDGE is blocked from the Microsoft authentication process.)

3) Employers may have internet firewalls that block access from their network. Try another network.

4) If the possible solutions 1-3 do not work, please create an IT Department support ticket at https://hcaservicecentral.service-now.com/galen and include a copy or screenshot of the error message.
