How do you cite a personal interview/personal communication in APA?
Personal communications include emails, text messages, online chats or direct messages, personal interviews, telephone conversations, live speeches, nonarchived social media livestreams (e.g., Instagram Live, Twitter Spaces), unrecorded webinars, unrecorded classroom lectures, memos, letters, messages from nonarchived discussion groups or online bulletin boards, and so on.
Answer
Please view the link titled Personal Communications-emails, text messages, personal interviews, telephone conversations, live speeches, etc. on our APA guide, https://galen.libguides.com/apacitation.
Academic Writer has a section under Audiovisual Media for interview recordings that may suffice. The reason that Academic Writer does not have more options for personal communications is because according to APA "...readers cannot retrieve the information in personal communications, personal communications are not included in the reference list; they are cited in the text only (https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/citations/personal-communications)."
