How do I paraphrase?

Answer

As a college or graduate student it is important to paraphrase instead of quoting as much as possible. Quotes are where you copy phrases or sentences word for word from another source. Quotes should be used sparingly. Paraphrasing should be used instead of quotes unless absolutely necessary.

Paraphrasing is where you take the main ideas from the source you are using and write them in your own words. When you paraphrase be sure to include an in-text citation.
