How Do I access the article "What Guides Your Nursing Practice?"

I can't access an article using a link in my NSG 3050 course, What Guides Your Nursing Practice.

Answer

  • Below is the APA citation. The link in the citation is called a DOI (Direct Object Identifier). If you click on the DOI, it will take you to the article at the journal level. You must sign in to Ovid as an institutional user using OpenAthens, select Galen College of Nursing, and enter your Galen email address and password to access the full-text article. It's more steps, but it can be done.

Hountras, S. C. (2015). What guides your nursing practice? Journal of Christian Nursing, 32(3), 179–181. https://doi.org/10.1097/cnj.0000000000000181

  • Users can also access the article by searching directly in the Ovid Fulltext Nursing Journals database located on the Library website.

First, on the Library's main page, click the button labeled Databases.

When the alphabetical list of databases opens, click "O" in the alphabet or scroll to OVID with Full-Text Nursing Journals. Click on the database title as indicated below.

When the OVID interface appears, use the advanced-search feature to search for the article by title.
